Virtually all of Djibouti (90%) is a volcanic desert. There are minor mountain ranges from the coastal plain to the Ethiopian highlands, where the highest point in the country (Mount Moussa, 2063m or 6768 ft) is located. The coastline is some 800 km (500 miles) long.
