Driving tips

Driving in Kuwait is on the right as in the US. It is an offence to drive in Kuwait without a driving license or car registration documents. If you are stopped and cannot produce them, you may be taken to a police station and held until they are presented on your behalf.
If you park a car on black and yellow lines (usually painted curbs), the car may be clamped; clamp will be released upon paying the required fine.
Care should be taken when driving past schools or mosques, as there are often speed-humps across the roads to slow traffic.
Though Kuwait has some of the best roads in the world, it also has a very high traffic accidents' rate. The government has initiated a crackdown on motoring offences and some -- such as failing to stop at red lights, weaving between lanes of traffic, speeding and driving on the wrong side of the road -- can be punished with imprisonment and/or deportation.
