Most foreign driver's licences are accepted in the UAE as long as the holder is a citizen of, or resident in, the country which issued the licence

Car rental companies will issue a temporary UAE licence against your home licence when you rent a car. This rule is only applicable to visitors or those on transit visas.

Rental rates start at about Dh140 per day for a small car with another Dh20-30 for insurance. It is normal for rental companies to grant unlimited mileage to anyone renting a car for more than three days.

In the UAE, right turns are not allowed at red lights and the speed limit is 60km/h in town and 100km/h on the highway.
